Danbury Farmers' Market Continues for its Sixth Season
The market received funding of $27K from the Fairfield County's Community Foundation because of its efforts with local, affordable foods.

Danbury Farmers’ Market is able to go into its sixth season this summer thanks to donor-advised funding of $27,000 grant from the Fairfield County’s Community Foundation, a nonprofit for the entire county, to assure the area and the event’s continued growth, according to the News Times.
The anonymous donor has a strong connection and desire to assist with local, affordable foods, Karen R. Brown, a vice president at the foundation, told the Times.
The market, which opened in 2009, is known for its efforts to provide fresh and nutritious foods to the Danbury population and offers a variety of services to accept any and all patrons, including the use of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program “food stamps” through Electronic Benefit Transfer cards, as well as providing nutrition program vouchers for seniors, veterans and low-income veterans, the Times reported.
