Danbury Weather: Excessive Heat Warning, Air Quality Alert, Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued

BREAKING: Conditions will increase the risk of heat related health issues, especially for the elderly and those with chronic health issues.

DANBURY, CT — The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued an Excessive Heat Warning, and Air Quality Alert and a Hazardous Weather Outlook for the area.

The Excessive Heat Warning is in effect until 10 p.m. Sunday and temperatures could feel as high as 105 to 110 degrees. The combination of heat and humidity will increase the risk of heat related health issues, especially for the elderly, those with chronic health problems such as lung and heart disease and those working outdoors. The NWS said that an excessive heat warning is issued when the combination of heat and humidity is expected to make it feel like it is 105 degrees or greater.

There will be several chances beginning today and continuing through the weekend for fast-moving thunderstorms that pop up out of nowhere. Some of the storms could be strong to severe, the National Weather Service predicts.
