DANBURY, CT — Frances Gallo Bourque Lee passed away on June 14 2016 at Medical Center of McKinney in McKinney Texas from complications of pneumonia, sarcoidosis and congestive heart failure. She would have been 88 on June 15th . Frances was born and lived in Danbury until moving to McKinney TX in 2012 to be closer to her beloved grandchild Jacob. Frances attended Danbury High School and worked in the Neuman-Endler Hat Factory. Fran was an active member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church Ladies' Guild while children Robert & Linda attended Sacred Heart School through 1964, then again in the 70's when Michael was in attendance.
Fran was a much sought after house cleaner who was also known to have a Lasagna assembled with extra sauce ready for baking when the home owner was having a dinner party. Once Michael was born, Fran shifted to home child care providing playmates for Michael while helping out other family members and friends with much needed child care (potty training included), prior to the now big business of Day Care. Being called "Aunt Fran" by all of the children she watched and their families gave her tremendous pride and joy. Many of the children she cared for have gone on to be Doctors, Lawyers, Teachers, Business Owners and Elected Officials.
Prior to her move to Texas, Fran could be found at the Danbury Senior Center playing cards (pinochle was the game of choice), doing water aerobics at the YMCA or helping set up or serve some type of food at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church kitchen. Fran was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years W.Burton Lee, parents Pasquale & Karngle (Gilotte) Gallo, brothers Frank, Benny, Roser & Samuel; Sisters Katherine Gallo, Rose Darling, Victoria Connley & Conchetta "Chick" Chuddy.
