Man, 68, Accused Of Peeking Into Woman's Bathroom At Danbury Shopping Plaza: Police

The Old Saybrook man will appear in court early next month to face multiple charges related to last month's incident.

DANBURY, CT — An Old Saybrook man is due in court to face charges related to accusations he was peeking into women's bathroom stalls at a Danbury shopping plaza.

Eugene Dollinger, 68, of Old Saybrook, will appear in Danbury Superior Court Feb. 2 to face the following charges: public indecency, voyeurism, interfering with a police officer/resisting arrest, and second-degree breach of peace.

Dollinger is out on bail, according to online court records.

On Dec. 19, Dollinger was taken into custody by Danbury police in connection with an incident at a local shopping plaza's women's bathroom.

Danbury Police Department spokesperson Erin Henry said the incident occurred that day at 113 Mill Plain Road when police were called to respond to a "disturbance."

According to Henry, a woman reported that a man was "peeking under the stalls" in the women's bathroom.

"When officers approached the individual, he fled into a nearby creek, but was safely taken into custody," wrote Henry in a statement.

Police didn't disclose the specific store where the incident took place, but 113 Mill Plain Road is home to a Starbucks, Staples, Trader Joe's, DSW, Warehouse Wines & Liquors, Reeya Shavsar Pharmacy, and a Häagen-Dazs.

In addition to charges related to the incident last month, Dollinger is also facing second-degree breach of peace and possession of a controlled substance charges from the Danbury PD, according to court records.

Those stem from an arrest on Sept. 29, 2023, according to court records, and Dollinger will appear in Danbury Superior Court on those charges Feb. 27.
