NY Couple Faces Charges After Attack on Danbury Mall Security Guard: Report
The couple reportedly attempted to steal items from Macy's before the scuffle.
Danbury, CT — A New York couple is facing a number of charges after a mall security guard attempted to stop them from stealing items from Macy's and they attacked him on Saturday night, according to a police report.
Several of Danbury Police Officers were dispatched to Macy's for a fight and upon arrival, the Macy's manager told them that their store security employee was trying to apprehend two suspects who were observed shoplifting, the report stated.
The suspects were later identified as Douglas Rollman, 26, of Mahopac NY and Gina Pecchia, 21, of Wingdale, NY.

Police said when the store security officer confronted the couple a physical altercation ensued and Pecchia began to strangle the officer. Police said Douglas kicked the officer in the abdomen and ran away.
Officers said they located the couple in the parking garage in their vehicle and placed them under arrest.

Rollman and Pecchia were charged with third-degree assault, third-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit third-degree robbery, sixth-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny and breach of peace. Pecchia was also charged with third-degree strangulation, according to the report.
Police said Pecchia was released on $25,000 bond and Rollman is being held on $25,000 bond.
