NY Man Used Phony $100 Bill on Carnival Game: Danbury PD
Police say the man also used phony bills at two Danbury Mall stores.

DANBURY, CT — A Manhattan man was arrested at the Powers Great American Midway Carnival at the Danbury Mall Friday evening for allegedly trying to use a fake $100 bill, according to city police. Kelvin Vargas, 21, tried to use the phony bill at one of the Midway games, according to police.
Officers responded to the carnival on the Danbury Mall property at 7:14 p.m. Friday for an attempted larceny. They later found that Vargas had two receipts from Gymboree and Bath & Body works. Police say he also attempted to use fake bills at those stores as well. (To sign up for Danbury breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
Vargas was charged with three counts of forgery, one count of criminal attempt of larceny in the sixth degree and two counts larceny in the sixth degree. He is being held on a $25,000 bond.
