Obituary: Maria T. DeCarvalho, 60, of Danbury

Maria T. DeCarvalho, 60, of Danbury, wife of the late Joaquim DeCarvalho, died on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Danbury Hospital.

Mrs. DeCarvalho was born in Lisbon, Portugal, September 1, 1956, daughter of Herculano and Maria (Fernanda) DosSantos. She attended schools in Portugal and emigrated to the United State in 1980 and was employed with the Risdon Corporation.

She enjoyed cooking and in early years, dancing.

Mrs. DeCarvalho is survived by two sons, Nuno Pinho and Jack DeCarvalho and a daughter, Carla DeCarvalho, all of Danbury and four grandchildren, Manny Martinez, Cassandra Plank Pinho, Jaydn DeCarvalho and Justin DeCarvalho.

The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury on Sunday, May 28, 2017 from 2 pm to 5 pm with a Prayer Service at 4 pm.

Interment will take place in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury at the direction of the family.
