Praxair Likely to Stay in Danbury, Officials Say: Report
Praxair announced intentions to merge with a German company, raising concerns that the company may leave the Hat City.

DANBURY, CT — Local officials say that Praxair is likely to maintain its Danbury operations, at a time when some of Connecticut's largest companies are packing up and moving operations elsewhere, reports the News Times. Mayor Mark Boughton told the publication he was told "not to expect any changes in [Praxair's] Danbury operations," according to the report.
Praxair and German-based Linde announced to merge in a "merger of equals" to form the world's largest industrial gas company. The new company will be called Linde, according to the report.
The company said Praxair CEO will be based in Danbury and will be the new CEO. Corporate functions will be split between Danbury and Munich, Germany.
