Public Input Sought In Darien As Search For School Superintendent Begins
The Darien Board of Education is seeking input on desired characteristics for the next school superintendent in two ways.
DARIEN, CT — The Darien Board of Education is seeking input from residents on what they'd like to see in the next superintendent of Darien Public Schools.
The school board has begun its search for a permanent superintendent with an anticipated start date of July 2026. School Leadership LLC, a highly-regarded search firm, has been hired to assist the school district in the process.
"A vital part of our search will be to develop specifications for the qualities and skills we would like to see in our ideal candidate," said BOE Chair D. Jill McCammon and fellow board members and Superintendent Search Committee Co-Chairs Dennis Maroney and Sara Parent in a letter to parents on Wednesday.

"We are reaching out to you for your help to develop these specifications," the BOE officials added. "As valued partners of the DPS community, your thoughts are important to us."
To that end, school leadership will hold an in-person community forum on Monday, Sept. 15, from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the BOE Meeting Room at 35 Leroy Ave.
