District 4 Candidate Sued Town for Taxes
Candidate John J. Miessau sued the Town in 2018
In a Facebook post Miessau made on 10/26/2025 he complained that real estate taxes went up over 7.2% in 2024 but what about Miessau’s attempt in 2018 to overturn the rightful reassessment of his properties especially the vacant lot he owned at 312 Bradley Street?
After refusing to accept the Boards decision Miessau hired a lawyer and sued the Town costing you the taxpayers more money. Then he wonders why taxes and expenses in the Town of East Haven are high! This is the man who seeks office on the Town Council? He wasn’t fighting for you but only for himself only because he got caught dodging taxes and the Town Assessor held him to account.
I hope those who live on Bradley Street remember how Miessau split the 9+ acre lot and created 300 Bradley Street and 312 Bradley Street and after he got the lot split he then sold his home at 300 Bradley Street to a group home. The group home is now gone but his selfish attitude and the screw you to his neighbors is what John J. Miessau is all about. The residents of Pondview Terrace and Mallard Lane all know what a neighbor John J. Miessau was!
On Nov 4th say NO TO JOHN J. MIESSAU!
