Just reading the Facebook posts about what has happened down in the Morgan Point Neighborhood on "East Haven- Not Everything is Good" has everyone talking! Who is behind this clearing of over 6 acres of land? Why are they doing this and what are the plans?
Over the past few weekends this land has been cleared and the wildlife that inhabited the land have been disbursed. This area was once home to the deer, foxes, rabbits and other beautiful animals. From the past articles it seems that the owners maybe right from Morgan Point and you have to wonder why would they do this to our neighborhood?
Common thoughts are well, "It's their land and they have a right to do what they want to." Well, maybe that's true in some cases but what was done one should ask if it was a neighborly? Then you have to ask who are those folks who cleared the land? Are they neighborly or are they just looking to make a buck? At this point no one knows what the intent is and the good news is anything that is done with the property still has to follow zoning laws and regulations. At that point out from the shadows the applicant will come UNLESS represented by an attorney who may not divulge who the applicant is. That's where the local zoning board and Town Officials step in to make sure the best interests of the community are protected.

If there are any Inland Wetland matters that board meets July 10th also at the Senior Center.
