Several Motor Vehicle Crashes Closes Roads, Several Hospitalized: East Haven Police

EAST HAVEN, CT — Police are currently at the scene of a serious multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of Coe Avenue and Silver Sands Road.

This incident began at 4:06 p.m. Monday when the driver of a Ford F350 was involved in a crash with a vehicle at the intersection of Hemingway Avenue and Dodge Avenue, police said.

"The Ford F350 continued south on Coe Avenue, causing an accident with a second vehicle pulling out of Diamond Marine, 650 Coe Avenue," police said. "The operator of the truck continued on and caused a multi vehicle accident at the intersection of Coe Ave and Silver Sands Road. Multiple injuries have been reported and multiple vehicle occupants have been transported to area hospitals."

Coe Avenue will be shut down at the intersection of Coe Avenue and Silver Sands Road while the South Central Connecticut Traffic Unit investigates the circumstances of the accident, police said.
