Ellington Names New Town Assessor
Town officials said the appointee brings years of municipal assessment and real estate experience to the role.
ELLINGTON, CT â Town officials announced this week that Tyler Devine has been hired as Ellingtonâs new assessor, according to a press release issued by the town.
First Selectman Laurie Burstein and Town Administrator Matthew Reed said in an emailed release that Devine brings several years of experience in municipal assessment and real estate, along with a bachelorâs degree in economics from the University of Connecticut.
Town officials said his prior work has included property appraisals, handling tax exemption applications, managing personal property declarations, and making adjustments to motor vehicle, real estate, and personal property accounts

Burstein said Devineâs experience and work ethic will benefit the town, while Reed said Devineâs background in real estate and municipal service will be an asset to Ellington and its property owners, according to the release
Devine said he is honored to serve as Ellingtonâs assessor and noted that he is available to answer questions or address concerns from residents. He is a Certified Connecticut Municipal Assessor II and also holds a Connecticut real estate license, the town said
