131st Annual Independence Day Ceremony In Fairfield On July 4

The ceremony will be held two days before the town's fireworks display on July 6.

Information from the Town of Fairfield:

FAIRFIELD, CT — The public is cordially invited to attend the 131st Annual Independence Day Ceremony sponsored by the United Veterans of Fairfield on Thursday, July 4, 2024 at 10:00 am on the historic Town Green in front of the Old Town Hall, 611 Old Post Road.

The Declaration of Independence will be read by students from Fairfield Teen Theatre who will dress as Thomas Jefferson, John Adams and Benjamin Franklin. Lieutenant Colonel Thomas A. McHale, U.S. Army, Retired will be the guest speaker. Allison Fay will be the guest singer.

Following the ceremony, the Eunice Dennie Burr Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution will serve light refreshments on the Town Green.

Everyone is welcome to attend this celebration of our Nation’s 248th Birthday!

In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved to American Legion Post 74/VFW Post 9427 at 197 Reef Road.
