3rd Suspect Accused Of Stealing Tires: Fairfield Police

The three are accused of stealing tires from the Town Fair Tire store in Southport, according to authorities.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A third suspect has been arrested in connection with the theft of dozens of used tires from the Town Fair Tire store in Southport in September, Patch has learned.

Waterbury resident Roberto Velez was arrested on a warrant last week, and was charged with sixth-degree larceny (two counts), third-degree larceny, and first-degree criminal trespass.

Xavier Velez and Xavier Alexis Velez were arrested on the same charges, in connection with the alleged thefts, earlier in the month, according to Fairfield police.

The trio is accused of conducting two overnight thefts at the store on Sept. 11 and Sept. 25, Fairfield Police Sgt. Jenna Wellington told Patch.

"During the investigation, officers executed a search warrant and recovered approximately 100 used tires," Wellington said.

Roberto Velez surrendered to police on Nov. 25, and was released after posting bond on bail of $5,000. He is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on Jan. 8.
