7 Inches Of Snow Possible Friday In Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, CT — Dust off that snow shovel and break out the road salt, because Fairfield could be transformed into a winter wonderland by morning.
Snowfall is expected to start in the pre-dawn hours and continue into the late morning, for a total of 3-7 inches, according to the National Weather Service. Fairfield could also see wind gusts as high as 25 mph Friday.
Fairfield authorities announced Thursday evening that schools would be closed Friday, and the area is under a winter weather advisory from midnight to noon.

Thursday night: Snow, mainly after 2 a.m. Low around 27 degrees. Calm wind becoming northeast around 6 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. Total nighttime snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
Friday: Snow, mainly before 11 a.m. High near 34 degrees. Wind chill values between 20 and 25 degrees. North wind 7 to 15 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.
Friday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 18 degrees. Wind chill values between 10 and 15 degrees. West wind 9 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph.
Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 31 degrees. Wind chill values between 10 and 20 degrees. Northwest wind 3 to 8 mph.
