Back To School: Fairfield 2025-26 School Calendar

FAIRFIELD, CT — Back-to-school planning has already begun in Fairfield, with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day in Fairfield Public Schools for the 2025-26 school year.

The first day of school for most students in Fairfield is Tuesday, Aug. 26.

Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change. Here is the list of dates to know for this school year:

• Labor Day: Sept. 1 - Schools Closed
• Rosh Hashanah: Sept. 23 - Schools Closed
• Yom Kippur: Oct. 2 - Schools Closed
• Early Dismissal/Conferences: Oct. 15, 21 & 23 (Not high schools on 21st and 23rd)
• Election Day; Professional Development: Nov. 4 - Schools Closed
• Thanksgiving Recess: Nov. 26 (Half Day), Nov. 27 and 28
• Winter Recess: Dec. 23 (Half Day), Dec. 24 through Jan. 4
• Early Dismissal/Professional Development: Jan. 13
• Martin Luther King Jr. Day: Jan. 19 - Schools Closed
• Presidents' Day/February Recess: Feb. 12 (Early Dismissal), 13, 14, 15 & 16 - Schools Closed
