Why are you seeking this office?
Fairfield has given me and my family so much, and I want to give back to our neighborhood and our town. I believe that I can use my broad experience in law and land use to continue to help town government.
The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it:
Ensuring that government works effectively for them. I intend to continue to listen to my constituents, understand where they're coming from, and see if we can reach consensus in the RTM on the day-to-day town issues that matter most: education, public safety, government services, and fiscal responsibility.
What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
Every candidate brings something to the table. As one of the attorneys on the RTM, I have always strived to use my legal knowledge and experience to be a resource to others and to help shape legislation on issues such as speed cameras in school zones and our new ethics ordinance for public officials.
What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
As I said when I served on our Town Plan & Zoning Commission, we need "smart growth" in Fairfield that encourages responsible development to help keep our property taxes down, while also taking into account the needs of existing communities.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
- Vice Chair of Town Plan & Zoning Commission, responsible for hearing and deciding on many major zoning applications, trying to reach consensus
- Serving as a partner in an active law practice while raising three young kids in a town that I love.
What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
You've got to have "fire in your belly" -- whatever you do, do it with energy and determination!
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
Whether you know me as a friend, a neighbor, a fellow Riverfield or RLMS parent, an RTM member, or even if you don't know me at all, I want to get to know YOU better. What are your concerns? How can we help make town government the best it can be?
