Does anyone in your family work in politics or government?
No

Previous public office, appointive or elective:
Elected to Board of assessment four times. Served as a member 4 years,
As Vice Chair 4 years and Chairman 8 years.

Why are you seeking this office?
To help insure that assessments represent fair market value of homes as dictated by the state statutes.

The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it:
Rising taxes caused by the over assessment of property in Fairfield.

With over twenty years as a Fairfield realtor, I plan to use that expertise along with what the home owner presents to make intelligent fair decisions about assessments. It’s not just about the house. Lot size, topography, location , wetland issues, setbacks all play a toll in value. Without the expertise I bring to the board short changes the taxpayers who may have been aggrieved.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
The other republican candidate Judy Szablak is well qualified to serve on the Board of Assessment Appeals. She has previous board experience and is also a Realtor with over 25 years on experience. We are running mates not competitors.

The other two candidates do not seem to have anywhere near the level of experience in finding the fair market of homes

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
The board focuses on only one area.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
My 12 years successfully reducing assessments by fighting for taxpayers even when other members disagreed. Check the voting results of the past four years cut can be found in the assessors web site

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
In my Real Estate career “Open the door and shut your mouth”. Meaning listen more than talk.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I consider it a privilege and a pleasure to represent all taxpayers who come before the board seeking relief from over assessments and will work as I have done for 12 years to correct injustices in the assessment process
