Does anyone in your family work in politics or government?
No, however my Dad volunteered as the treasurer for Shawn Wooden’s campaign for Connecticut State Treasurer.

Previous public office, appointive or elective:
I served as an RTM member for two years in Dedham, MA.

Why are you seeking this office?
I am seeking this office to be more connected to my town and give back to my community.

The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it:
From speaking with my neighbors, I have noticed a feeling of disconnect. My hope is to be able to bridge the communication gap between the town and the individuals and to get more people involved in their local communities.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I believe in lifting people up and winning together. I’m not here to speak poorly of any other candidates.

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
I’d like to be involved in creating safer streets, ensuring that our schools get the resources they need, and making sure all communities in our town feel heard and represented.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
I’m a mom and a small business owner. If you know, you know.

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
While in Yoga Teacher Training, I learned about the beautiful concept of ahimsa and use that as my guiding principle in life. It comes from Hinduism and Buddhism and means non-violence or non-harming, avoiding harm in thoughts, words, and intentions towards all living beings. Practicing ahimsa involves showing compassion, kindness, and respect for all life and cultivating a dynamic mental state of peace and love.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
Sure! I would love for folks to get to know me as a friendly face in our community. I love reading, gardening, playing soccer with my son, cooking, playing pickleball and volunteering at my son’s school. I hold liberal positions on both social and fiscal issues.
