Dogs six months of age or older must be licensed.
FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield’s dog owners are reminded that dogs six months of age or older must be licensed by July 1 each year, Town Clerk Betsy P. Browne announced.
Licenses may be purchased at the Town Clerk’s Office, Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM beginning June 1. A current rabies certificate is required.
The fee for a spayed or neutered dog is $8. If the dog has not been "fixed," the fee is $19. The first time a dog is licensed, a certificate of spaying or neutering must be presented to qualify for the lower fee. After June 30, a $1 per month penalty is added to the licensing fee.
