Authorities received a call about the stranded goose on Thursday.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield Animal Control Officer Stacy Rameor came to the rescue of a goose entangled in fishing line in a pond in Fairfield on Thursday, according to authorities. See the X post below from Fairfield police.

Details of the incident were not immediately available, but Rameor "shimmied" down a tree to cut the goose loose to bring back to the shore.

The goose was given a clean bill of health, and was released back into the pond, where it rejoined the rest of its flock.
