FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield’s fireworks display has been postponed to Sunday, July 7 due to the potential for rain on Saturday, July 6, officials announced Friday.

“Safety is always our top priority in making any decision to postpone,” Fairfield police wrote in a post on Facebook. “The weather for Sunday is expected to be rain free, making it a much better day to be on the beaches or on the water viewing the fireworks.

“Thank you for your support as we keep Fairfield safe. See you on Sunday!”
