Fairfield RTC Endorses Hwang For First Selectman

Local Republicans have launched a petition drive for a special election against Democratic incumbent First Selectwoman Christine Vitale.

News release from the Fairfield Republican Town Committee:

FAIRFIELD, CT — The Fairfield Republican Town Committee (RTC) proudly announces its unanimous endorsement of State Senator Tony Hwang as the Republican candidate for First Selectman. The endorsement came following the RTC’s regular monthly meeting and caucus on Tuesday evening.

While a special election has not yet been officially called, the RTC has already far exceeded its goal for petition signatures in just one week and has submitted those signatures for certification. With confidence that the 5% threshold required by law will soon be met, the RTC acted now to formally nominate Senator Hwang to ensure a clear, united Republican candidate is ready to lead Fairfield forward.
