Groundbreaking At Fairfield's Burr Homestead Gardens Oct. 17

The groundbreaking is for a new Reflecting Pond at the homestead, located at 739 Old Post Road in Fairfield.

The following announcement is from the Burr Gardens Advisory Committee:

FAIRFIELD, CT — The Burr Gardens Advisory Committee, which has aided in the cultivation of the Burr Homestead Gardens since its establishment by the Board of Selectmen “to improve and preserve the Burr Homestead Gardens to ensure its place in the unique history of Fairfield” is excited to announce the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Reflecting Pond on October 17th at noon.

This groundbreaking for the new pond sets the stage for a number of enhancements that will be made over the course of the next few years to revitalize the Gardens for all Fairfield residents to enjoy. BGAC Chair, Robert Twardzik, stated, “I’m thrilled that we are moving forward with the groundbreaking of this beautiful new Reflecting Pond. The Burr Gardens is a beautifully distinct part of the Homestead and Town’s history, and we anticipate the next chapter of the Gardens as an integral part of the community that will be enjoyed by everyone in Fairfield.”

First Selectwoman Brenda Kupchick will take part in the groundbreaking ceremony along with members of Town boards and the Burr Gardens Advisory Committee.
