'Hazardous Conditions' Possible With Snow, Sleet In Fairfield Friday Forecast

FAIRFIELD, CT — The Friday commute is looking rough for Fairfield, with a wintry mix of snow, sleet and rain in the forecast.

"Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute," the advisory said. "Slow down and use caution while traveling."

The snow is expected to start overnight, with sleet beginning to fall around 4 a.m. and changing to rain by 10 a.m., according to the weather service. Fairfield could see 3 inches or more of snow and sleet, plus some ice accumulation.

Thursday night: Snow before 4 a.m., then snow and sleet. Low around 28 degrees. Wind chill values between 20 and 25 degrees. Light east wind increasing to 6-11 mph in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. Total nighttime snow and sleet accumulation of 1-3 inches possible.
Friday: Freezing rain and sleet before 10 a.m., then rain between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. High near 39 degrees. Wind chill values between 20 and 30 degrees. East wind 7-14 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New ice accumulation of less than a 0.1 of an inch possible. New sleet accumulation of less than 1 inch possible.
Friday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 18 degrees. Wind chill values between 10 and 15 degrees. Northwest wind 8-14 mph.
Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 31 degrees. Wind chill values between 10 and 20 degrees. West wind 7-10 mph.
