Hazardous Waste Collection Day This Weekend In Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, CT — A pair of upcoming events will help Fairfield residents clear out some unwanted items from their homes.

Hazardous Waste Collection Day in Fairfield is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4, at Veteran's Park, 909 Reef Road; and Free Mattress Recycling Day in Fairfield is scheduled 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 11 at the same location.

Both events are hosted by the town's Solid Waste and Recycling Department and Commission, and pre-registration is required, as walk-ins without pre-registration will not be allowed.

"The Town of Fairfield hosts its annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day at Veteran's Park to provide residents the opportunity to dispose of household hazardous waste at no charge," officials wrote in a statement. "Just load your car, your car will be emptied for you."
