Heavy Traffic Reported In Fairfield Wednesday: Police
A Wednesday morning crash on I-95 in Fairfield is the source of the problem, according to Fairfield police.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield police are warning drivers of heavy traffic in town on Wednesday, following a crash on I-95 in Fairfield earlier in the morning.
"Severe traffic delays on Route 1, Post Rd, and downtown due to a backup on I-95 from an earlier accident," Fairfield police posted on X. "Please leave extra time for your commute, consider alternative routes, and remain patient. Drive safely!"
The I-95 crash, which was reported at about 4:30 a.m., occurred on the southbound side near Exit 21, and involved a tractor trailer truck that veered off the road, knocking down a light pole and about 300 feet of guardrail, according to Connecticut State Police.
