Here's What To Know About Scooters And Safety, Fairfield Health Department Warns
In addition to wearing a helmet, there are other factors that help with scooter safety.
FAIRFIELD, CT — With summer in full swing, it seems like scooters are everywhere.
Kids love them, adults love them, and they can make traversing through Fairfield a breeze. But the town's Health Department warns riders and other motorists that everyone should put safety first when riding a scooter, or driving past them in a car.
In addition to wearing a helmet, how the scooter fits the rider is important.

Car and truck drivers should also slow down, "and stay alert near parks, sidewalks and neighborhoods," as children can move fast and unpredictably.
"Let’s work together to keep Fairfield’s youngest riders safe!" officials wrote.
