Major Factory Store Opening New Location In Fairfield

The popular clothing store, which specializes in preppy fashion, is coming to Black Rock Turnpike next spring.

FAIRFIELD, CT — J.Crew Factory, the popular retailer specializing in preppy fashion for women, men and children, will open a store in Fairfield next spring, Patch has learned.

Kleban Properties closed the deal with the store, which will occupy 5,250 square feet in the space formerly held by the Black Rock Theater in the Turnpike Shopping Center on Black Rock Turnpike, according to Ken Kleban, president of the commercial real estate firm.

"We couldn’t be more thrilled to be a part of the Fairfield community," said Jody Gietl, head of J.Crew Factory, in a statement to Patch. "We look forward to welcoming the community in to find great style for every occasion, for the entire family."

Mark Barnhart, Fairfield's director of Community and Economic Development, called the store's pending arrival "exciting news" for Fairfield.

Currently, there are seven J.Crew Factory stores in Connecticut: Danbury, Clinton, Westbrook, Windsor, West Hartford, Canton and Southbury.

The chain is owned and operated by the J.Crew Group, which also owns J.Crew and Madewell.
