Milling & Paving Begins On Post Road In Fairfield

Fairfield police are advising motorists that the state DOT has started milling and paving on Post Road. Read details here.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield police are advising motorists that the state Department of Transportation has started milling and paving on Post Road, from Granville Street to Eliot Place in Fairfield.

The milling and paving work is expected to continue through Aug. 8.

𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐞:

  • Nightly, excluding Saturday nights.
  • Milling/Paving: 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • No Parking: 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • Vehicles parked in violation will be towed at the owner's expense.

Milling/Paving will be sequenced into the following sections of roadway. Contractors will complete one section each night. Milling will be completed along the entire length of the roadway prior to paving.

  • Granville St to Ruane Street
  • Old Post Road to the area of the Brick Walk
  • Brick Walk to Eliot Place

𝐔𝐬𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧:

  • Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction.
  • Road surfaces will be uneven and rough.
  • Paving will follow the same sectioning/sequencing as milling.

Businesses remain open during this period! Please utilize alternate parking available behind many businesses, at the Sherman Green, and at the Fairfield Train Station.
