Minor Coastal Flooding Possible In Fairfield Early Wednesday

Astronomical high tides are expected after at midnight, according to authorities.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Astronomical high tides could cause minor coastal flooding in Fairfield at about midnight Wednesday, according to authorities.

The National Weather Service has issued a coastal flood advisory for 11 p.m. Tuesday to 1 a.m. Wednesday.

"Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline," according to the weather service.

Added Fairfield police, "Low areas on Fairfield Beach Road mainly at the far end are vulnerable and parked cars could be impacted."
