Multiple Black Bear Sightings Reported In Fairfield: Animal Control
"The Bear is attracted by bird seed in bird feeders and goes yard to yard looking for bird feeders," according to Fairfield Animal Control.
FAIRFIELD, CT — Multiple sightings of a "black bear and her 2 young cubs" have been reported recently in Fairfield, according to the town's Animal Control unit.
The sightings primarily have been in the Greenfield Hill area around Hoydens Hill, Congress Street, Hemlock Hills Road and Whiting Pond Road.
"The Bear is attracted by bird seed in bird feeders and goes yard to yard looking for bird feeders," officials wrote on Facebook. "The Bear has shown no aggression towards people and we expect it to move out of the area with her cubs in a short time."

Residents are asked to temporarily remove bird feeders from their property to avoid enticing the bears.
"Never approach a bear or her cubs and please do not try to get close for picture taking," officials said. "The bear and her cubs need some space so they don’t feel threatened."

Routine bear sightings can be reported to Fairfield Animal Control at 203-254-4857, as officials would like to track the bears' progress.
