Lisa Moore Cusick, 65, wife of Peter Cusick, died at home on Sept. 9, 2025; a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology, she built a 20-year career in editorial and creative design at Scholastic Books, Weight Watchers Magazine, Modern Bride Magazine, and International Masters Publishers. An accomplished watercolor painter and avid gardener, she also enjoyed travel throughout the U.S. and Europe and spending winters skiing in Vermont and summers sailing on Long Island Sound with her two sons, Jack and Sam.
Roman Dopilka, 78, the husband of Olga (Dzieciuch) Dopilka for over 58 years, passed away at home on Aug. 27, 2025; a graduate of the Brooklyn High School of Automotive Trades and a former U.S. Air Force Staff Sergeant in Del Rio, TX during the Vietnam War, he later worked 30 years for UPS as an Automotive Supervisor. He excelled in soccer as a high-school captain, semiprofessional player and youth coach, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, clamming, building flying models, working on cars and trucks, and spirited political debates.

Ward John Scoran, age 62, passed away unexpectedly on Aug. 15, 2025; he was a graduate of Joel Barlow High School and Bullard-Havens Technical School and worked as a steelworker at Chapin & Bangs Steel, later serving on the union. He enjoyed NASCAR, quiet visits to St. Mary’s by the Sea, and sharing time with family and friends, living life with quick wit, humor, and a striking presence.
Ann Marie Smith, age 99, passed away peacefully on Jul. 27, 2025; born in Boston, MA to Dominic and Mary D’Agostino, she was the wife of the late Franklin Henry Smith and was affectionately known as “Aunt Dedo.” A passionate traveler who explored the U.S. and abroad, she shared her adventurous spirit and enjoyment of new cultures and cuisines with friends and family throughout her life.

Peter M. Zampedri, 82, died Sept. 3, 2024; he built a long career in the auto body industry, managing the body shop at Ted Miller Buick before later working independently. With his wife Marcia he also operated Breezy Meadows Farms, breeding and showing quarter horses—most notably one named Marilyn Monroe—and enjoyed summers by the pool, traveling with friends and family, and caring for his dogs.
Judy Ann Warga, 67, of Fairfield CT, passed away peacefully on Aug 30, 2025 after a courageous fight with Lupus and other health challenges, living her life on her own terms. She was known for her passion for music, dancing, boating, traveling—including a recent cross-country road trip—and for bringing energy to every gathering she attended.
