FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield experienced some roadway flooding after heavy rain hit the town overnight Monday into Tuesday.
The area was under a coastal flood warning and wind advisory during the storm, and residents in low-lying shoreline neighborhoods were advised to move their cars to high ground.
Pequot Avenue and Fairfield Beach Road flooded due to the weather, which also left sand covering certain roadways, according to police, who said the affected streets were "cleaned up promptly" Tuesday morning by public works crews.
