What's Your LD Superpower?

The Southport School students were encouraged to share their "LD superpowers" during a recent Morning Meeting.

As part of Learning Disabilities Awareness Month this October, The Southport School students took part in a “What’s Your LD Superpower?” project. Upper and Lower School Heads, Ms. Julie Papp and Ms. Audra Hoag, organized the celebratory learning project.

On Friday, 10/24, the school hosted a very special Morning Meeting where students shared their “LD Superpowers.”

During the meeting, The Southport School alumnus Jake Sussman, founder of Superpower Mentors, a mentorship solution for those with dyslexia, ADHD, and other learning challenges, shared a powerful message with students. Over video, he reminded them that he once walked the same halls, learned in the same classrooms, and faced similar challenges. His story showed that with confidence and self-awareness, their “superpowers” can take them anywhere.
