In the upcoming special election race for First Selectman, Tony Hwang has accepted the MAXIMUM allowed campaign contributions of $1,000 each from FOUR developers, for a total of $4,000 thus far. Additionally, the Fairfield Republican Town Committee (RTC) has accepted more than $1,700 from FIVE developers in the last month alone. With nearly three months to go until the February 3 special election, we expect to see these numbers climb. And this is nothing new — Fairfield Republicans have a long track record of accepting money from the very developers they express faux outrage toward while on the campaign trail.

Developer Donations to Democrats: ZERO.

First Selectman and candidate Christine Vitale has taken NO donations from developers. And she won’t — she has committed to not accepting campaign contributions from developers. The Fairfield Democratic Town Committee has also accepted ZERO developer donations.

When it comes to 8-30g and affordable housing, who can you really trust? The party that accepts the maximum allowed contributions from the same developers they claim to oppose — or the party that refuses to take those funds?

The math is easy. The money tells you everything you need to know.

Vote Fairfield Democrats, Row A, on November 4.
