I am running for First Selectperson because I love Fairfield, and I believe our town needs strong, steady, and visionary leadership during one of the most challenging times in our community’s history.

For over 20 years, I’ve represented Fairfield at the local and state levels. That work has never been about titles or politics; it has always been about people. It has been about listening carefully, showing up consistently, and caring deeply about every neighborhood, every school, every small business, and every family and individual striving to build a good life here.

This decision to seek the role of First Selectperson was not taken lightly, and it is not a step away from my work as your state senator, it is a step toward bringing all that experience home. I have seen firsthand the pressures Fairfield families face: rising costs for maintaining essential town services that strain taxpayer budgets, uncertainty around local control and regionalization, challenges to students in our schools, aging infrastructure, traffic congestion and safety concerns, and the growing need to protect our shoreline and environment.

I feel compelled to step forward now because Fairfield deserves a leader who understands the full picture, someone who has navigated national, state, and local crises, built bipartisan solutions, defended our community’s values, and delivered real, measurable results. Someone who can bridge the state and the local, and who knows how to turn advocacy into action.

Throughout my career, I have worked to deliver tangible results for our town: appreciation of our town employees and their services, standing up to utility companies, passing the Vision Zero road safety bill, supporting school safety and curriculum enhancement, and securing grant funding for flood mitigation, infrastructure, and nonprofits. I have always prioritized listening, being present, and advocating for every neighborhood.

As First Selectperson, I will use my proven experience to maintain quality town services balanced by disciplined spending, support our schools and enhance student experience, invest in infrastructure, oppose overdevelopment driven by statewide mandates and regionalization of schools, prioritize feedback from constituents, and safeguard our coastline, waterways, and open space. My approach will focus on working closely with federal, state, and local leaders, knowledgeable experts, and resident stakeholders to develop practical, affordable, and sustainable solutions that address our town’s needs and growth.

I want to hear directly from you about your concerns, your priorities, your hopes for Fairfield’s future. Please call me at 203-807-8098 or email me at Tony@TonyHwang.org. I respectfully ask for your trust and your vote for First Selectperson on February 3, 2026. Together, we can keep Fairfield strong, affordable, and thriving for generations to come.
