Why are you seeking this office?

I have always held volunteer positions in town.

I was the president of the Farmington Community Chest for nine years and also served on other committees within the town of Farmington.

I have always held a high respect for those who governed our town.

We have been in the top 10 for our school system, and we’ve had the lowest mill rate in the Farmington Valley.

Republicans have led this town for the past 60 years, and when I was approached to run, I did so willingly and happily.

The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it: I think the most pressing issue for our constituents is the cost of living for everyone, including our elderly.

Customers come in, and they are very concerned about paying their taxes and having their tax rate grow.

Being on the town council helps me strike a balance between what is wanted and what is needed in our town while making sure that our services for both the elderly and residents are at the highest level possible.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

I have worked as a regulatory accounting analyst for 43 years, preparing budgets and backing them up with facts and known and measurable cost estimates.

I feel that I can ask the questions when going through the budget process to get answers that I feel are important, that strike a balance.

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?

Transparency from our Board of Education system and Town Council decision-making.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

I think my experience during my 43-year career, alongside being the chief financial officer of our small business, helps me make reasonable decisions as to the health and welfare of the town and its residents.

I speak to customers and understand where their concerns and struggles come from, and it also helps me stay focused on what matters to the people working and living in Farmington and what their needs and desires are.

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?

To always try to strike a balance and do the right thing, always and every day, to take steps forward to create an even better community.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

I promise to always do things for the betterment of the community and not to put personal beliefs or parties ahead of that.
