What town do you live in? Farmington
Party Affiliation: Democrat
Occupation: Retired
Family: My wife, Suzanne, is a realtor, and we have lived in Farmington for the past 28 years. My two daughters, Rachelle and Caroline, are products of the Farmington School system. My younger daughter and her husband, Kyle, are raising my two granddaughters, Aila and Siobhan, in Farmington.
Does anyone in your family work in politics or government? No
Previous public office, appointive or elective:
I am currently elected as an alternate of the Town Planning & Zoning Commission and serve as an appointed representative of the Town's Retirement Board.
Why are you seeking this office?
I believe I can bring my business experience as an executive vice president and division head of a major IT services company, where I ran a $140 million business with over 2,000 people, to bear on the important issues facing the town.
The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it: Property taxes is the number one concern.
I want to hold the line on spending and work with our state delegation to maximize Farmington's allocation of funds. Especially in this environment of federal government uncertainty.
What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
While things are very good in Farmington, I think we can do better in a few areas.
I would like to see our town services be more responsive, with better communication and transparency for residents.
What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
Traffic and development are also major concerns for our residents.
New developments bring ever more cars to our roads and students to our schools, and pressure on our infrastructure.
We must carefully scrutinize new projects and their collective impact on our town.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence that you can handle this job?
I've had a long and successful international business career dealing with large, complicated contracts and projects.
I know how to manage budgets and teams for successful results: on-time and on-budget.
What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
I love the catchphrase "The best is the enemy of the good". It really illustrates the mindset needed to push for success.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I am committed to fully supporting the community I love.
Now that I have retired from the workforce, I want to devote my full energies to giving back to Farmington and making public service my primary goal.
