Beloved Farmington Museum's Hiking Trails Need Makeover
A special volunteer trail cleanup event is slated for Thursday, July 17, where folks will tidy up 3 miles of trails and enjoy pizza after.

FARMINGTON, CT — Community members are invited to a popular art museum in Farmington this Thursday to lend a hand cleaning up and maintaining the museum's well-used hiking trail network.
The Hill-Stead Museum, which is located at 35 Mountain Road, Farmington, is not only home to a vast collection of colonial-era artwork, among other pieces, but it is also home to a wide array of free, passive recreation opportunities outside.
On Thursday, July 17, it is hosting a special trail clean-up day where folks are invited to pitch in and lend a hand with other friends and neighbors who love the 3 miles of trails on site.

Supplies especially needed for the event are gloves, loppers, pruning shears, hedge trimmers, and bug spray.
Because of bugs, including mosquitoes and ticks, volunteers are asked to wear long pants and long-sleeved shirts, if it isn't too hot.
Refreshments will be available, and the day concludes with a 6 p.m. pizza party.
It is recommended that volunteers aged 14 and up can best participate.
