Farmington 8th-Grader Qualifies For Hunt Seat Nationals

A local rider competed at the Interscholastic Equestrian Association Zone 1 Finals.

FARMINGTON, CT — Farmington eighth-grader Abigail Ringuette and her Middle School team from TerryAllen Farms competed at the Interscholastic Equestrian Association Zone 1 Finals at the Big E Coliseum on April 2 and 3.

IEA is in its 20th year and has 14,500 riders in 46 states, with New England being amongst the largest of the 11 national zones including Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine.

Under trainer Samantha Borkoski and assistant trainer Riley Babb of TerryAllen Farms in Terryville, Ringuette qualified for IEA Nationals in three events including the United States Hunter Jumper Association Future Intermediate Equitation Over Fences 2’ division as an individual and team rider, and also the USHJA Future Intermediate Equitation On The Flat as a team rider.

Ringuette will be joined at IEA Nationals by her TAF middle school teammates who qualified by winning the team competition at Zone 1 Finals, including Giuliana Pace of Southington who also qualified as an individual rider in the USHJA Future Novice Equitation on the Flat, Emma O'Neil Simpson of Southington and Angelina Bettini of Terryville.

Ringuette and her teammates will be riding at IEA Nationals April 28th - May 1st, 2022 at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center in Harrisburg, PA.
