Farmington College Student Earns Major Scholarship

The student earned the scholarship from a Massachusetts accountants organization.

FARMINGTON, CT/BOSTON, Mass. — A Farmington, CT resident was recently awarded a prestigious scholarship from a Massachusetts-based accounting organization.

The Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants (MassCPAs) said Benjamin Cosentino of Farmington, CT, was awarded the CBIZ Firm Named Scholarship by the MassCPAs Educational Foundation’s 2025 Scholarship Program.

Cosentino, a student at Babson College in Massachusetts, was one of 48 students selected to receive a scholarship.

The students were honored for their awards at MassCPAs’ annual, member-wide networking event, Connect 2025, on May 6.

"The passion and expertise of this year’s scholarship recipients is truly inspiring," said Zach Donah, president and chief executive officer of MassCPAs. "Their dedication to the accounting profession reassures us that the future of our industry in Massachusetts is in good hands. Scholarships are funded through donations to the MassCPAs Educational Foundation.

The mission of the foundation is to inspire and support the next generation of CPAs in Massachusetts.

Since the program’s inception in 2006, the Foundation has awarded over 450 scholarships to aspiring CPAs, ranging from $1,000 to $10,000 and totaling more than $2,080,000.

Scholarships are available for both undergraduate and graduate accounting students, as well as graduating high school seniors, who are attending a college or university in Massachusetts or attending a college or university out of state with a permanent residence in Massachusetts.
