Farmington's Newest Eagle Scouts Made Their Mark In The Community
The two Farmington High School students were honored last weekend at a special ceremony to mark the accomplishment.

FARMINGTON, CT — Two Farmington Boy Scouts achieved scouting's highest achievement last weekend when they were officially designated Eagle Scouts at a special ceremony.
Luke McCormick and Tyler Kiszka were honored in front of 60 friends and family for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout.

The celebration took place Saturday, May 31, at the Farmington Community Center.
It was led by Troop 68 leaders Alexis Salsedo-Surovov, Bryan Bystricky, Bryon Heath, and Doug Pelham.

Guest speakers included Father Matt Gworek from St. Patrick Church, Chris Hardiman, who was a Troop 68 leader for more than 20 years, Nicole Morin, who serves as president of the Exchange Club of Farmington, and Army Sgt. First Class Tyler Yurkew and Army Staff Sgt. Bartlett.
Each scout also received congratulatory letters from state Representative Mike Demicco, D-Farmington, and U.S. Rep. Jahana Hayes, D-5th District, and U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn.
Their Eagle Scout projects benefited the Farmington community.
McCormick and some fellow Scouts constructed a shed for baseball equipment storage at IAR Middle School, while Kiszka and his group built fishing line receptacles along the lake at Winding Trails.
Both attend Farmington High School, with McCormick finishing up his sophomore year and Kiszka graduating on June 10 .
