State Champ Farmington HS Soccer To Battle Hunger This Week

The Farmington HS boys soccer team is hosting a food drive later this week during its game against Bristol Eastern.

FARMINGTON, CT — The local community is invited to enjoy the beautiful game on Friday, Sept. 26, and participate in the beautiful act of generosity as well.

The defending state champion Farmington High School boys soccer team is inviting the public to come out and watch their game against Bristol Eastern High School on Friday, and help them collect food for the food pantry.

The game will take place at 6 p.m. at Tunxis Mead Field 1, 80 Tunxis Mead Road, Farmington.

In addition to the game, however, fans are being asked to "Kick Out Hunger" and donate non-perishable food to the Farmington Food Pantry during the game.

Some of the pantry's more acute needs are canned fruit, cereal, pasta, pasta sauce, coffee, and Progresso soup.

In addition to food donations, the team is also collecting cash donations to help out.
