Vacant Farmington Gas Station Development Resurrected
Plans to develop an abandoned service station site in Farmington were withdrawn in January 2023, but they have been revived.
FARMINGTON, CT —A plan to develop an abandoned piece of Route 6 commercial property has been resurrected, 17 months after a similar proposal was abruptly withdrawn.
The Farmington Planning and Zoning Commission Monday, May 20, officially accepted an application seeking special permit and site plan approval for 342 Colt Highway (Route 6).
The applicant — listed as CPD Properties and 342 Colt Highway LLC — will transform the vacant garage/service station into a new gas station, along with a convenience store and a yet-to-be-named "quick service" restaurant.

It comes after a similar application for the site was withdrawn from the PZC's docket in January 2023.
That application, by the same developer, sought to build a gas station/convenience store/bank branch at the site, along with an office building.

No reason was given for the withdrawal of the application, but the developer has come back with scaled-down plans this time around.
In accepting the application, the PZC scheduled a public hearing date for June 24 at 7 p.m. in Farmington Town Hall (with a virtual component to the meeting as well).
No discussion of the application took place on Monday.
