Woman Seriously Hurt, Airlifted To Hospital After Glastonbury Crash On New Year's Eve: PD

Her Mazda veered off Route 2 and struck a metal beam guardrail Tuesday night, state police say.

GLASTONBURY, CT — A woman was seriously hurt in a one-vehicle crash in Glastonbury on New Year's Eve, Connecticut state police said.

The woman was traveling on Route 2 in the left lane, at around 9:13 p.m., when for some unknown reason, her Mazda veered off to the left and struck a metal beam guardrail, according to police.

The Mazda then veered to the right, crossing the right shoulder, before stopping on a grassy area on the roadway's right side, police said.

The woman, 18, of Manchester, suffered serious life-threatening injuries, and was airlifted to Hartford Hospital by Life Star, and her Mazda was towed from the scene due to disabling damage, according to police.

The case remains under investigation, police said.
