2 Sustain Life-Threatening Injuries In 3-Vehicle Crash In Glastonbury, Police Say

Police said one vehicle "lost control while negotiating a left-hand curve...."

GLASTONBURY, CT — Two people suffered serious and life-threatening injuries in a crash on Friday night, police said.

At 8:53 p.m. Friday, Glastonbury Police, Fire, and EMS responded to the area of 3066 Hebron Avenue (Route 94) for a report of a motor vehicle crash involving three vehicles.

Upon arrival, first responding officers and EMS personnel provided medical care to the occupants of all vehicles involved, police said. Glastonbury Fire personnel extricated the two most severely injured occupants, who were transported to area hospitals for treatment of serious and life-threatening injuries, police said.

The scene was processed by investigators from the Glastonbury Police Traffic Unit as well as the Metro Traffic Services Regional Accident Reconstruction Team.

"Preliminary investigation indicates a vehicle traveling westbound on Hebron Avenue lost control while negotiating a left-hand curve near 3066 Hebron Avenue," police said in a news release. "The vehicle collided with an oncoming eastbound vehicle and was subsequently struck by a second eastbound vehicle that entered the crash scene."

Hebron Avenue remained closed in both directions until about 2:15 a.m. Saturday, while the investigation continued and CT DOT crews checked and cleared the roadway.
