Bridge Replacement Prompting Road Closures In Glastonbury
A section of Main Street in Glastonbury was closed Monday and is scheduled to be closed again on Friday for Bridge work.

GLASTONBURY, CT — A section of Main Street in Glastonbury was closed Monday and is scheduled to be closed again on Friday for bridge work.
The closure at located at Main Street between Hubbard Street and Morgan Drive and will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on both days for the replacement of a pedestrian bridge.
A crane will occupy both sides of the road.

Drivers heading south on Main Street towards Hubbard Street will have to detour onto Hubbard Street and take Buttonball Lane to access any locations on Main Street further south of Morgan Drive, officials said.
Additionally, the northbound side of Main Street at the Route 17 intersection, which heads toward Morgan Drive, will be closed to through traffic, officials said. Only drivers needing to access streets or residences south of Morgan Drive will be allowed to enter through the Main Street at Route 17 closure, officials said.

Drivers heading north on Main Street who reach the intersection of Main Street, Route 17 and Buttonball Lane can continue north onto the Limited Access Highway, or can detour onto Buttonball Lane to Hubbard Street and back to Main Street to get to locations on Main Street north of Hubbard Street, officials said.
Drivers needing access along Main Street between Morgan Drive and Route will have to request access from the staffed road closure at Main and Route 17, officials said.
Message boards and detour signs will be in place along the way.
