Connecticut PGA, CCMC Teaming Up For Unique Golf Fundraiser

The unique golf event is designed to raise funds for two major charities.

GLASTONBURY, CT — The Connecticut Section PGA is teaming up with Connecticut Children's Medical Center for a unique fundraiser.

The "Birdies for a Brighter Futures" event is scheduled for Oct. 20 at Shuttle Meadow Country Club in Berlin. It's a one-day, 36-hole fundraising event during which golf professionals in teams of two will come together to raise money for Connecticut Children's and the Connecticut PGA Golf Foundation.

The teams are seeking financial pledges per birdie or a flat donation.

As of Wednesday, pledges per birdie have ranged from $10 to $218.
